London Grammar Cover Wrecking Ball

Guilty pleasure confession time: I like Wrecking Ball. I can’t help it. Great discovery time: I love this London Grammar cover of Ms. Crazy’s track, which takes Miley’s foundation of this compelling ballad and its beautiful lyrics, and makes it sound stunning on the ears, washed clean of the guilt and naked thrusting around on a ball.

London Grammar never fail to stun when they perform. They covered Kavinsky's 'Nightcalland turned it into a haunting ballad, and now they've transformed Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball' into a wholly different beast during a Live Lounge session on BBC Radio 1.

Although Hannah Braid gives another mesmerising vocal performance, Dan Rothman and Dot Major deserve a share of the credit for their XX-worthy minimalism on the arrangement. Miley purists will likely cry sacrilege, but this aches with a kind of sincerity that's absent in the original.
