Songstress Selena Gomez has revealed that her split from teen pop sensation Justin Bieber helped her to focus on her career. The 21-year-old singer, who ended her relationship 'Never Say Never' hitmaker early last year, said her painful breakup motivated her to re-evaluate and come back with pop hit 'Come and Get It', reported Contactmusic. "I questioned the way I looked, acted, sang, and wrote. I started becoming very stale with my music, and I realised that I was doing things for other people. Then I turned 20, went through a really bad breakup, and realised I needed to pick up everything. I needed to have 'Come and Get It' be amazing. I wanted it all to be me. I was tired of feeling defeated. All this time, I was trying to figure out why I felt like such an underdog, and I finally realised I just wasn't ready. I'm glad it's taken me this long to get where I am because now I am ready for it," she said.
The fallout behind Chris Brown‘s  arrest in Washington D.C. is getting serious. After getting conflicting reports from police officers and a secret service agent, Washington D.C.’s Internal Affairs Bureau is opening an investigation of Brown’s arrest. If you recall, Breezy was arrested in Washington D.C. back in October for allegedly punching a fan in the face. However, Brown always maintained he never struck anyone. A secret service agent offered an eye witness account that backed up Chris Brown’s claims. Because of the secret service agent’s support of Brown’s story, an investigation has been opened on the officer that’s being accused of lying. Billboard reports that the investigation was opened because the differentiating details of the story will be key parts to the prosecution’s case against Brown. The whole car hinges on a conversation the arresting officer allegedly had with one of Brown. Chris Brown’s acquaintance reported that he and the arresting officer had. During this conversation, Breezy’s friend alleged the police officer told him that the victim said Breezy never touched him. when the officer was interviewed by his superiors, he denied ever having spoken to the victim.  Things got crazy when the uniformed secret service agent confirmed Brown’s friend’s story. It may be grand opening, grand closing for this police officer’s career if he’s found out to have falsified this police report.
Could an Oasis reunion be on the cards? It's the news that all Britpop boffins have been waiting for, as rival brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have finally ended their public spat after reconciling at a family wedding in Ireland... and are now even reportedly planning to open up a fab new bar together with their mother Peggy. But what we really want to know is does this mean Oasis could be getting back together? Well so far there's been no news on the Oasis front, but it looks as though things are finally heading in the right direction as Britain's most notorious siblings have decided to put their feud behind them. The rock'n'roll icons have barely spoken since a huge backstage bust up back in 2009, merely exchanging several public digs, and - as entertaining as they have been for the rest us -  it's a huge relief to see the boys deciding to bury the hatchet once and for all. According to The Daily Star, Liam - who has since gone on to mediocre success with his band Beady Eye - initiated the make up, with a source telling the paper: "Liam initially came up with the idea after a recent trip to Manchester with his mum Peggy. "Then between them they thought Noel should also be brought on board. The brothers are thinking about an indie rock-themed place which serves artisan food." And can you guess what this new Manchester celeb hot-spot's reportedly going to be called? Champagne Supernova of course, after their huge '(What's The Story) Morning Glory' anthem. "The brothers are consulting their famous friends such as Russell Brand and Holly Willoughby for advice on the venue,” the insider added. "They reckon a hot new bar could bring them together again." We have to reiterate the notion of Oasis reforming is still but a pipe dream, however the band's original guitarist Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs recently revealed he could see the band reforming eventually and right now we'd have to agree. Discussing his predictions in last week's NME magazine, he explained: “If someone said, 'Here's a field, here's a stage and here's 200,000 people,' I'm sure Liam would jump up and do it, and I don't think it would even take anyone offering him a massive bankroll of money. He'd do it because that's what he loves, that's his passion." Fingers crossed guys, and who knows there's still two more spaces for the year's Glastonbury headliners to be announced!

Vance Joy has been working on his music in a tree house studio. The Australian singer-songwriter - who has been climbing the charts with his single 'Riptide' which was radio presenter Fearne Cotton's 'Song Of 2013' - has been busy working on his debut album with Ryan Hadlock - who produced The Lumineers. During his time at Bear Creek Studios, which are located near Seattle, he loved being 20ft up in the air in a unique recording space. Talking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I've been in Seattle recording for my album. Now I'm in Illinois - it's cold in America! The time I spent in Seattle was really good. We were working in a recording studio called Bear Creek. They actually have a tree house studio, about 20ft up. It was cool to being able to live at the studio. " Vance is hoping to have many more opportunities in 2014 following the release of 'Riptide'. He added: "It is probably just riding the wave of having a song that's opening doors for me and enjoying the moment." Vance is soon to be heading back to his native Australia where he has a string of gigs, before coming to the UK and Europe.
Zedd will release “Push Play” as the follow up to radio and club-conquering smash “Clarity” from his similarly-titled debut LP. Originally a top 20 hit for Swedish diva Miriam Bryant at home in early 2013, the soaring anthem was remixed by the club king and added to the deluxe edition of his album late last year. The duo unveiled the song’s lyric video on January 16 — meaning that Miriam’s original visual has effectively been scrapped — but she actually features in the clip, which is a consolation. The smoky-voiced songstress performs the track while the lyrics appear around her. Watch up top. Does Zedd have another hit on his hands? We will see.
