Review I, Frankenstein

I only went to this movie because my friend wanted to watch it. I had seen the rating on imdb and it only got 5,5 and my expectations were dreadfully low.

The movie starts with the death of Dr. Victor Frankenstein who dies after being frozen to death. He is buried in the family cemetery by the monster (Aaron Eckhart). After the fateful event, he is attacked by demons who try to kill him. But the monster kills one of the demons and is saved by gargoyles in the process. Gargoyle queen Leonore (Miranda Otto) and their commander, Gideon (Jai Courtney) name the monster Adam and invite him in their war against the demons. But Adam refuses the offer and prefers to stay isolated in remote places where he fights the demons with the weapons given to him by Leonore. The demons never cease to try and capture him to gain the secret of how to reanimate a corpse. He comes back after two hundred years to find a modern society where the evil demon leader Prince Naberius (Bill Nighy), who disguised as businessman Charles Wessex and his right hand man Zuriel (Socratis Otto) are planning to raise an army by bringing dead people to life with the help of scientist Terra Wade (Yvonne Strahovski). They also send a group of demons led by his most formidable warrior, Zuriel, to attack the gargoyles' cathedral and capture Adam so they can unlock the secret to give life through him. Now it is Adam's mission to stop the demons from succeeding in their plan.

The monster looks way to human. This monster is supposed to be bits and pieces of other people who were thrown together to make a monster, and the monster was supposed to be terrifying, but the monster really isn't like that. He is symmetrical and no part of his body looks out of place.

The rest of the movie was incredibly boring, badly paced and self indulgent. It also took itself way too serious! It so desperately wants to come off as a dark, modern interpretation of the classic film, but it falls so short. Some scenes come off as genuinely hilarious, because of a mixture of bad lighting, silly dialogue, and very cruddy acting.

When I watch a movie about a bad thing againts a good thing, I want epic battle not only chessy fight scenes. What a shame.
