One of the most anticipated movies of the year, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" doesn't disappoint. Taking place right after the events of the first movies, Katniss and Peeta are a symbol for hope against the Capitol. Katniss is a lot more emotionally volatile this time around, which makes sense because she's been through a horrible experience and her troubles are only just beginning.

Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), the winners of the 74th Annual Hunger Games, have returned home. Katniss has turned into a symbol of hope for the people who are beginning to rebel against the totalitarian government of the Capitol under President Snow (Donald Sutherland). Katniss and Peeta's return home is short lived as they embark on a Victor's Tour around all the districts paying their respects to the falling tributes. Despite Katniss's love for Gale (Liam Hemsworth), she is forced to continue with the farce surrounding the media coverage of her relationship with Peeta. Effie (Elizabeth Banks) and Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) join Katniss and Peeta as advisers during the tour. President Snow recognizes that Katniss has become a symbol of hope for the people outside of the Capitol and therefore has a surprise for the upcoming Quarter Quell (the 75th Annual Hunger Games). He announces that for this special event a male and female tribute winner from every district will have to compete against each other in this tournament of champions. Katniss and Peeta are the chosen tributes from District 12 who will face other tributes in a special arena designed by the new Head Gamemaker, Plutarch Heavensbee (Phillip Seymour Hoffman). Other tributes include Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin) and Johanna Mason (Jena Malone) who form an alliance with them. President Snow is planning on crushing Panem's new symbol of hope, but Katniss will do what it takes to survive and protect her loved ones.

Jennifer Lawrence shined again as Katniss, acting at about the same level, if not higher, as she did in the first. It really felt like this for the rest of the characters, with a slight bump. The new characters were great, and of course my favorite was Johanna played by Jena Malone. She was the kind of character that shocked you at first and really made you wonder where her alliance was after. Sam Claflin is flawless in every other regard and you can be sure that the teenage girl part of the audience will stifle a giggle in at least one instance, as it should be. Stanley Tucci steals every scene he's in as always, Woody Harrelson is outstanding as he was last time, and Donald Sutherland does a great job again as well. Liam Hemsworth once again was god-awful, and the romance sequences in these movies are terrible. Francis Lawrence now handles the series. The camera may be less shaky, but there's always a sense of art in his direction, especially at the midst of silence. The pacing is effortlessly outstanding, which decently balances the drama and the thrills. The games has become a lot electrifying, it is more practical and have greater effect of danger than just characters trying to kill each other. It's a creative turn that goes full momentous until the end. The production and the effects are solid enough to make the exteriors of their world look intriguing.

Undeniably 'Catching Fire' has more complex story than the previous movie. It isn't only about the game but also about rebellion from community who against the Capitol. Half an hour of the movie is about Katniss and Peeta doing Victor's Tour to districts and continued with conflict amongst them. Just don't expect too much that battle in the arena would be so fun like in 'The Hunger Games', the game is a little bit strange this time but it's revealed at the end of the movie.The arena scenes are amazing and the special effects are spot on. The spectacle is louder and bigger, definitely more spectacular, yet its heart beats strong with passion and plenty of emotion. When they get back into the games with the other tributes, the movie picks ups the pace. The action picks up and you finally get to learn a little more about the other tributes who had won the games previously.

Overall, if you enjoyed the first one you will enjoy this one.

HollywoodLife claims to have obtained a casting notice seeking a body double for the singer, and the ad reportedly reveals the singer's exact measurements: “Looking for a body double for Britney Spears. Please only submit if you have these measurements or are very close to them all. Height 5’4″, 130 lbs., 32C-27′-35′, dress size 4, shoe size 7.” If the ad is real, it wouldn't be the first time the singer is said to have used a body double. In 2007, now-defunct Blender magazine put out a call for a double to pose for photos reminiscent of Bert Stern's photograph of Marilyn Monroe in bed for The Last Sitting.

Eminem, born Marshall Mathers III, has said that with his new album, “The Marshall Mathers LP 2,” he is trying to recapture the spirit of the agile, loony rapper who, in 2000, released his biggest-selling album, “The Marshall Mathers LP.” In 2013, that mission may be doomed. It’s not that he has lost any skill as a performer. His voice is as nimble as it’s ever been, but that, oddly, is part of the problem. Nobody doubts his prodigious talent. Few rappers have loved words and their physical properties more, the way that language can be split into musical bits and arranged in any order. But his desire to reëstablish his bona fides has introduced an uneasy tension into his music: he’s rapping well, technically, but he seems to have learned nothing from what has been, by any account, a difficult life. My decision was made to see this movie when I saw Kick Ass 2 and Chloe's Hit Girl was made into a more vulnerable character. This got me thinking okay maybe Chloe can pull this off.

Carrie White (Chloe Grace Moretz), a high school senior who's treated as an outcast by her peers due to her extremely religious and secluded upbringing. Margaret White is Carrie’s mum (Julianne Moore), who believes she conceived her in sin and home-schooled her until the law would no longer allow it. Due to her sheltered upbringing she's bullied at school, especially when she has her first period and doesn't understand it. A popular schoolmate Sue (Gabriella Wilde) takes pity on her, after first picking on her as well, and asks her boyfriend (Ansel Elgort) to take her to prom. At the same time another classmate Chris (Portia Doubleday) is plotting her revenge on Carrie for causing her suspension from school and exclusion from the popular dance. While Carrie is dealing with people and new strong feelings and emotions she also develops telekinetic abilities, that become dangerously strong.

I already knew the story of Carrie, I expected this movie’s climax to be all the more devastating (in a good way). What I mean by that is I have to be so emotionally involved with the characters that I will pray against fate that the tragic climax will not happen. Did I get that here? Yes. I wanted Carrie to have a good time at the prom, I wanted Carrie to have this chance at being "normal", and I wanted Carrie to be happy for once. But then the rug was brutally slipped from under her and I felt it too. Chloe really surprised me in this movie because let's face it the girl is just damn cute and according to Stephen King Carrie was described as being chunky and pimply so the girl was ridiculed for being socially inept as well as physically. Miss Chloe here was just too damn cute and giving her a messed up hairstyle and baggy farmer's clothes couldn't hide it. A minor thing but I forgave this because of Chloe's acting. I swear this girl has some brilliant facial expressions especially during certain scenes that really pull at your heartstrings. I even found myself getting a little misty eyed at some parts. As for Julianne Moore as Carrie's mum, no complaints here. I loved her and Chloe's scenes together especially towards the end. Nearly tore my heart in pieces.

Do I believe that it was necessary for this film to have been re-adapted for a new generation? Yes. Today, bullying has become a major issue in our society. Carrie White was an outcast at school and was tormented by her peers. She suffered emotional and physical abuse from her overly religious mother. And in the end... a person can be pushed so far. I just hope people take heed of the dangers of bullying and realize how far a person can go when pushed to the extreme.

Overall it was a good movie, not great, but watchable.
