Movie Review
Review Despicable Me 2
Steve Carell once again, does a great job as the voice of Gru. With the girls in his life, he’s a new person and he’s trying to take on new challenges. The girls are still the girls. Miranda Cosgrove returns as Margo who is now starting to show interests in boys, Dana Gaier as Edith who is in her martial arts phase and still hates boys and Elsie Kate Fisher as Agnes who is still so adorable and even Gru notices that. Kristen Wiig joins as Lucy as she teams up with Gru to bring down the villain El Macho, who is voiced by Benjamin Bratt. Oh and I can’t forget about the minions!!!! They manage to make you laugh with their silliness. There’s a lot going on in this movie but it manages to hold it all together and comes together in the end.
The music of Despicable Me 2 is very distinctive, both compared to other movies and between different scenes and environments. There is edgy, electronic music, upbeat spy music, rhythmic salsa music, and of course, the "Despicable Me" theme song.
The cutest song is I Swear was popularized by All-4-One. Love how they sang underwear instead of I swear!
Overall, regardless of whether you’re an 8 year old kid or a 25 year old child at heart Despicable Me 2 is sure not to disappoint. Touching on topics of good vs. evil, love and acceptance, this movie promises to warm your heart while battling for breath amid riots of laughter. If you're a fan of the first Despicable Me movie, then you're going to love this movie.
