The movie opens in 1999, with nuclear physicist Joe Brody (Bryan Cranston) researching a strange pattern of seismic activity that could threaten the stability of the power plant where he and his wife (Juliette Binoche) are employed. While officials dismiss the readings as aftershocks from an earthquake in the Philippines, Joe suspects otherwise, but a tragic accident levels the entire facility, splintering the Brody family and leaving Joe unable to complete his research.
Fifteen years later, the area surrounding the plant is still under quarantine, and Ford Brody (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) is summoned to Japan to retrieve his father, who was arrested while trying to sneak into the family's old home. Joe has become obsessed with discovering the source of the accident, and his current research indicates that the same incident that destroyed his life is on the verge of happening again. Ford reluctantly agrees to help out his old man, and before long the duo find themselves back at the site of the accident, where the Japanese government is hiding something big. Something very big.

The characters of the movie are pretty bland and forgettable. Ford is your typical main character who is a husband and father trying to do what's best for his family. His family is just his family, though they did not bother me like a lot of families in movies do. Ford's dad, played by the brilliant Bryan Cranston, is misused as a character who mostly spouts exposition and then dies. Dr. Ishiro Serizawa is just a scientist. There isn't anything interesting about the characters, but that is made up for by the scale of the movie and the amazing effects.

The fight scenes are less intense and more majestic, like any classic monster movie, and as such the human aspect of the combat is relatively insignificant, less so than any other monster movie I've ever seen. There are no little monsters for anyone to shoot at, if that's your thing.

Something that made me surprise is Godzilla has atomic breath, I was like "wow cool". One question : am I the one who feel sad when Godzilla passed out (at first I thought he was dead)?

In short, didn't feel that high and buzz as the credits rolled but its definitely an absolute must watch for Godzilla fans and will surely stand the test of time as one of the best of its kind simply because it really is !

The movie originates with a confused Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) struggling with the morality of what is best to do for Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone). Eventually deciding to stick to his promise to her deceased father (Denis Leary) of keeping her out of his business, he is soon thrust a further set of challenges when his sudden new best friend Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) reveals he needs Spider-Man's blood to save his life, Jamie Foxx reeks havoc as the villainous Electro while trying to piece together his father's past.

Peter Parker, in his eternal search for the balance between being a hero, and being a human, bleeds emotion and quirky humor like the fun yet deeply relatable character that he's become so well known to be. The dialogue scenes with him and Gwen are some of my favorite moments. Beautiful chemistry between the two of them.

Andrew Garfield plays the part with absolute perfection. He eliminates the idea that Spider-Man and Peter Parker are the same person by giving the two characters their own layers and depths worthy of respect and admiration. As Spider-Man, he's the classic trash-talking, sarcastic mischievous hero while as Peter Parker, he's the relatable teenager struggling with everything life throws at us all. Stone is smart, fearless and a welcome addition to what is usually a thankless role for most women in these types of movies. She doesn't have the powers of Peter Parker but her existence in the film is more than just damsel in distress. The performance of DeHaan as Harry Osborn was atrocious at best. He seemed to be in a rage induced stupor the entire movie, leaving little room to promote his back story with Parker & The Green Goblin on the other hand. Somehow they have managed to destroy the character more thoroughly than the 1st series ever has. Poor acting and horrific costume design make the character more of a laughing stock than the James Franco version at the beginning of Spiderman 3.

There are 3 villains: The Green Goblin, Electro and Rhino. However this movie is really just about Electro. The Green Goblin is only seen 15 minutes from the end and he has a little scuffle with Spiderman then he is gone, we only see him later when he is in a psychiatric prison. The action is great, and the special effects superb. At some point though, they have to start equipping the cops with decent weapons since they know the danger levels they are facing and handguns are no-longer appropriate. Also maximum security prisons seem to be stupidly lapse in security. That scene was a joke. The story is slow due to too many sub-plots

Lastly, the movie expresses all kinds of emotions from the audiences that really make the viewer invest into the story and characters alike; making you love and relate to them.

Towards the end there is some indication of what might be featured in the next film, and I'm very much on the edge of my seat to find out exactly what that will look like!
